Morgana ColourCut Pro Plugins Upgrade

ColorCut Pro Plug-in Maintenance & Upgrade Guide

Introduction
This information sheet helps customers and internal teams understand how to identify
issues with ColorCut Pro plug-ins and the steps to upgrade the software key under the
Software Maintenance Agreement. It also provides an alternative option for customers who do not wish to upgrade immediately.

How to Spot Plug-in Issues
Plug-ins for Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW allow direct integration with ColorCut Pro.
These plug-ins may stop working correctly when Adobe or CorelDRAW release major
updates. Common signs include:
• Missing ColorCut Pro options in Illustrator/CorelDRAW.
• Error messages when launching ColorCut Pro from the design software.
• Jobs not transferring to ColorCut Pro (Direct Mode fails).
• Compatibility mismatch shown in ColorCut Pro settings.
Quick Check: If your design software was recently updated and the plug-in stopped
working, the issue is likely due to version changes.

Why This Happens
Adobe and CorelDRAW frequently change internal paths and features during updates. Plugins rely on these paths; when they change, the plug-in must be updated to match the new version

Upgrade Process
Intec provides a 1 year software agreement from when software is first
activated using a license key, beyond that is billable.
Follow these steps to upgrade your ColorCut Pro license and plug-ins:
1. Confirm Current License: Open ColorCut Pro and check your license status under
Settings → Activation/Deactivation.
2. Email us at service@printfinishing.com for assistance: Provide your current ColorCut
Pro version, Adobe/CorelDRAW version, and license key.
3. Receive Upgrade: You will get updated ColorCut Pro software and instructions.
4. Install Updated Plug-in: Close Adobe/CorelDRAW, run the installer, and restart your
design software.
5. Verify Functionality: Ensure ColorCut Pro options appear and test sending a job to the
cutter.

Alternative Option: Revert to Previous Version
If you do not wish to upgrade immediately, you can revert to the previous version of your
design software to restore plug-in functionality:
• Check Plug-in Compatibility: Before updating, confirm your current version works with
ColorCut Pro.
• If Updated and Plug-in Fails: Uninstall the current version of Adobe
Illustrator/CorelDRAW and reinstall the previous version.
• Confirm Plug-in Works: Open the design software and check that ColorCut Pro options
are visible under the File menu.

Best Practices
• Do not auto-update Adobe/CorelDRAW without checking plug-in compatibility.
• Keep ColorCut Pro software and firmware updated.
