Sydney Stone Launches Antibacterial Laminating Film in Canada - Printfinishing

Sydney Stone is pleased to announce the launch of Derprosa BacterStop, an Antibacterial Laminating Film in Canada. We have been proud to offer Derprosa Laminating Films since 2010 and offer sales and service Nationwide with branches in both Toronto and Vancouver.

“Frequently touched laminated materials such as children’s books, menus, and catalogues can allow bacteria to stay on the surface and spread to any hands that touch it”, says Dylan Westgate, Vice President of Sydney Stone. Given the climate we currently find ourselves in we need to take as many precautions as we can. A product like this one, which offers bacteria resistance, has to be a good thing.”

The BacterStop is an OPP Laminating Film that comes in Gloss and Matte finish. It guarantees that the proliferation of bacteria is inhibited by more than 99% on the laminated surface, according to tests carried out by external laboratories in accordance with the ISO 22196 standard. The lamination agent is also effective against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This technology is safe to use and is also used in medical, food, and water applications.

This film is thin and can be used on a variety of applications including business cards, book covers, postcards, brochures, medical documents, menus, and catalogues.

It is an exclusive and revolutionary solution to the graphic arts sector. BacterStop laminating film can be used for the same applications a customer would typically use a glossy or matte finish for their packaging, books, or printed commercial communication product. They provide the same, excellent clarity finish as our regular OPP Films, but with an added layer of protection.

Sydney Stone is expecting delivery of the films to be available in early July for those that pre-order. Pre-orders are offered at a discounted rate through June 17th. You can learn more about this film here:
