The System 3500 is a flexible and productive collating and bookletmaking system that can turn out different styles of booklet with no fuss for short to mid run finishing requirements. The modular approach allows the System 3500 to expand as a user’s needs grow, with additional collating towers or even as far as a fully specified System 5000. While its main purpose is delivering stitched and trimmed booklets, it is equally adept at straight folding or delivering collated sets into a jogger or stacker.

The System 3500 is ideal for mid to large volume booklet making applications where volumes are not yet enough to justify the full System 5000. Nevertheless it can handle longer run work when required thanks to 3,500 booklets an hour throughput. Users can increase the products finished in house, improving service to clients and opening up new types of business. The simplicity of operation thanks to an easy to follow touch screen control panel means that the System 3500 needs no special operator training while the suction feeding head can cope with a wide range of papers to expand the types of product that can be supplied. Where these cannot be finished by stitching or stapling, sets are collated ready for off line finishing in the stacker.

The touch screen panel guides an unskilled operator through set up and operation of the System 3500. The large capacity bins and reliable suction feeding system allow the unit to run unattended, with doubles or mis-feeds automatically ejected into a reject bin. The feeding system can cope with both litho and digitally printed sheets. The bookletmaking unit has 10 preset programs and a further three user definable set ups, making job changeover a push-button affair.
